In Home Euthanasia

Making the decision to euthanize your pet can be one of the most difficult and anguishing decisions anyone has to make.  But when your friend is suffering, and no longer enjoys a good quality of life, it is one of the kindest things you can do.  To make this a little bit easier, we have started offering in home euthanasia services.  This can be done in the privacy and comfort of your own home and can usually be scheduled outside of our regular business hours.

How it works:

If you choose this service, one of our veterinarians will make arrangements to come to your home.  He will help to make your pet as comfortable as possible by giving it a sedative.   He will also answer any questions that you may have.  After 10-15 minutes, the sedative will have taken effect and when you are ready, your pet will be given an injection that will literally make it go to sleep.  Your pet will peacefully pass away in a matter of seconds (usually 30-90 seconds).

Body Care:

If you choose to have your pet cremated, we can provide transportation and delivery to the crematorium as part of the service that we offer.

Making Arrangements:

1.  Schedule a time by calling our hospital. This service is by appointment only.  At this time, we can’t offer this as an emergency service.

2.  Fill out and sign our information and euthanasia release form.  This form is available online by clicking here. It can also be faxed, mailed, or picked up at our hospital.  This form is given to the veterinarian upon his arrival.

3.  We need to know if you will be taking care of the burial/cremation services or if you would like us to do that.  We are able to provide communal cremation with no ashes returned or private cremation with your pets ashes being returned to you.

4.  We want to focus on you and your beloved pet during this process.  Because of this, we prefer payment before we provide our service.   Payment can be made in person at our hospital with cash, check, or credit card.  We also accept payment over the phone with a credit card.  If payment is made at the time of your appointment, we can only accept cash payment.  If your pet passes away before we provide our service, your money will be refunded.   Please call to get prices on the services that we offer.
